J. Heath Balch, D.D.S.

Dr. J. Heath Balch is a native of Newport, TN.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 2002 from Carson-Newman College and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), College of Dentistry, Memphis, in 2006.
After dental school he practiced general dentistry in Cookeville, TN for three years.  As a General Dentist he saw that several patients needed complex comprehensive dental care.  He made the decision to return to a full-time three-year Advanced Prosthodontic residency program in 2009.  His time in residency focused on implant surgery, esthetic dentistry and full mouth reconstructive/restorative dentistry.  His Master thesis focused on mandibular (lower jaw) movement and evaluated the accuracy of two electronic mandibular jaw tracking devices. He received his certificate in Advanced Prosthodontics and Master of Dental Science from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2012.

After residency, Dr. Balch was an Associate Prosthodontist in a Prosthodontic practice for one year in Knoxville, TN before purchasing a Prosthodontic practice in Brentwood, TN in 2013. He purchased a long-standing Prosthodontic practice where he focused on a wide range of prosthodontic procedures.  In 2019, he transitioned from his private practice to owner of the Nashville ClearChoice practice.  H

 

He and Dana welcomed their first child in 2014 and their second child in 2021.
 

He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, the International Academy of Gnathology, the Southeastern Academy of Prosthodontics, the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, and the Past-President of the Nashville Dental Society.

 

Heath met his wife Dana in Cookeville.  They have been married for sixteen years.  Dana is a native of Livingston, TN.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tennessee Technological University in 2004 and her Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner certificate from Vanderbilt University in 2007.  She.

They have two children Estelle and Jude.
