Jerald A. Bryant, D.D.S.

Dr. Bryant grew up on a dairy farm in Cookeville. He graduated from Cookeville High School in 1991. After Attending the University of Memphis and TN Technological University, he attended dental school at The University of Tennessee in Memphis. He graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001 and moved back to Cookeville to begin his practice.

It is Dr. Bryant’s desire to stay on the cutting edge of Dentistry. With that goal in mind, he strives to exceed the continuing education requirements required each year by his profession and encourages his staff to do the same. He has completed a year long class on Implantology at the Medical College of Georgia. In 2010 Dr. Bryant became an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. (AAID) This is a very elite group. There are only 20 dentist in Tennessee who have met the qualifications to be considered for this honor. He continues to work toward a full Fellowship in the AAID.

Dr. Bryant is an active member in many professional organizations, including The American Dental Association, The Tennessee Dental Association.  He is an Associate Fellow of The American Academy of Implant Dentistry(AAID). Dr. Bryant is also working towards his Masters in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).  This means that he must complete 1100 hrs of training in many different dental areas.  Dr. Bryant is currently serving as the President of the 4th District Dental Society (TN).

In 2011, Dr. Bryant was one of 5 nominees for the Tennessee AGD Dentist of the Year. This honor was based on his high level of academic achievement, and his committment to his community.

Dr. Bryant, his wife, Tonya, and their two sons, and  two daughters are happy to call Cookeville home. They are active members of the community and church.

 

Scott Brown, D.D.S.

Dr. Brown earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in 1978. Prior to dental school, he attended Middle Tennessee State University for his undergraduate studies.  He has practiced dentistry in Cookeville for 37 years.  In 2014, he merged his practice with Maple Leaf and continues to provide excellent dental care.

Dr. Brown is committed to staying abreast of the latest developments in dentistry and he attends continuing education courses every year. He is a member of the American Dental Association, as well as the Tennessee Dental Association and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. Dr. Brown has also received additional training in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and has participated in six continuums at the L.D. Pankey Institute.

Dr. Brown enjoys hunting, crossfit,  and riding motorcycles.  He and his wife are active at Collegeside Church of Christ and in the community.

Michelle B. Alley, RDH, BS

Michelle B. Alley, RDH, BS

Michelle has been on our staff for over 10 years. She graduated from Pickett County High School and then attended TN Technological University for Pre-Dental Hygiene. In 1997 she received her Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene from TN State University and then furthered her degree by earning her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2000. Michelle is also certified in the administering and monitoring of nitrous oxide.

Michelle stays up to date in her profession by taking continuing education courses each year. She also participates in professional associations such as The 6th District TDHA and the ADHA, where she served as the president and as a trustee for two years.

Michelle lives in Cookeville with her husband and two sons.

 

Miki Hopkins, BS, RDH

Miki Hopkins, BS, RDH

Miki is a native of Cookeville. She graduated from TN Technological University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics and Nutrition. In 2004 she graduated from Western Kentucky University with her Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene and joined our staff. Miki is also certified in the administration and monitoring of nitrous oxide.

Miki is a member of the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society. She continues her professional development with her membership in the ADHA and The 6th District TDHA, where she has served as the vice president. She also completes continuing education courses each year.

Miki and her husband live in Cookeville, with their son and daughter. They attend The River Community Church.

Jamie is a native of Cookeville. She attended TN Technological University for Pre-Dental Hygiene, and then completed her Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene at Chattanooga State Technical Community College. Jamie has worked as a hygienist since graduating in 2003, and joined our staff in 2006. Jamie is also certified in the administration and monitoring of nitrous oxide.

Jaime is happy to practice her chosen profession in her home town. She continues her professional development by attending continuing education classes each year.

Jamie lives with her husband and son and daughter in Cookeville. They attend Collegeside Church of Christ.

 

Kim Burris, RDH

Kim is a native of the Upper Cumberland and has been a dental hygienist in the Cookeville area for 20 years. Kim attended Tennessee Tech for 2 years to complete her prerequisites for hygiene school.  She then attended Tennesse State University and graduated with her degree in Dental Hygiene in 1997. Kim joined Maple Leaf in 2015.  She takes classes each year to stay up to date with the dental field and attends the 6th District TDHA professional meetings.

Kim lives in Jackson County with her husband and 2 children. She attends Zion Church of Christ and loves to be involved in her kids' activities.

 

Sharon A. Smith, RDA

Sharon has been a Registered Dental Assistant since 1999 when she completed her training at TN Technology Center in Livingston. Sharon joined our office in 2002. She has also received expanded certifications in coronal polishing, nitrous oxide monitoring, and sealant application. She has also received special training in the design and manufacture of Cerec crowns.  In 2013, Sharon attended special training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, over a three month period, to earn her Expanded Functions Dental Assistant license.  This license allows her to place fillings.

Each year, Sharon completes a series of continuing education classes to stay up to date in the dental field. She is a member of the ADAA, a professional association for assistants.

Sharon and her husband live in Jackson County. They have two married daughters and four grandchildren.

 

Anca Sexton, RDA

Anca Sexton, EFDA

Anca is a native of Romania where she studied computer programming. She served as an interpreter for mission trips in Romania before coming to the United States, and speaks several languages.  Anca started her dental career working in our insurance and billing office, and is our office coordinator today.

Anca received her assisting education at TN State Tech in Livingston and became registered in 2007. She has continued her education by studying to receive expanded duties certifications in sealant application and nitrous oxide monitoring.  In 2013, Anca attended special training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, over a three month period, to earn her Expanded Functions Dental Assistant license.  This license allows her to place fillings.  Anca has worked as an expanded functions assistant (EFDA) in our office, and continues to do so as needed.

Anca, her husband and two daughters live in Cookeville and attend The River Church.

 

Megan Livingston, EFDA

Megan joined our team in 2014 as a registered dental assistant, after completing her assitant training in 2013. She has received expanded duties certifications in nitrous monitoring, coronal polishing, and sealants. Megan continues to expand her dental knowledge by attending continuing education classes. She recently received her Expanded Functions Dental Assistant license which allows her to place fillings. We are happy to have Megan on our team.

 

 

 

 


Tonya Bryant, BS

Tonya serves as our practice administrator. She graduated from TN Technological University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.  She has also received special training in dental practice management and in meeting OSHA and HIPAA standards. While Dr. Bryant was in school, she worked as a laboraroy analyst and as a high school anatomy teacher.  Tonya has worked in the dental field since 2001. Each year, Tonya attends continuing education classes to further her knowledge of the dental field.

Tonya is happy to be able to work with her husband, Dr. Bryant.

 

 


 

Brettianee Anderson, RDA

Brettianee ( Brett ) was homeschooled grades K-12th.  After completing her high school courses, she became a Registered Dental Assistant and has since expanded her certification to preform dental radiographs, monitor nitrous oxide and practice coronal polishing. Brett joined Maple Leaf to work in our front office in 2015. She had previously worked for 3 1/2 years as a chair-side assistant, so she has experience in both the clinical and the clerical sides of dentistry. Brett currently works with insurance verification and collections in our office. 

In her spare time, Brett enjoys crocheting and spending time with her husband. She and her husband, Titus, live in Cookeville and attend Center Grove Church of Christ in Gainesboro.

 

 

Hailey Dial, RDA

Hailey joined our team in May of 2016. She recieved her dental assistant registration at John's Dentistry and an Associate's degree at Volstate Community college in Livingston in Pre-Dental. She is currently applying to get into hygiene school.

Hailey works at our office as a chair-side assistant and has expanded her certifiactions to preform dental radiology, monitor nitrous oxide and she is curently enrolled to get her coronal polishing this summer. 

Hailey is from Rickman, TN and currently lives here in Cookeville. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, kayaking and camping.

Rachel Ramsey

Rachel is a TN Tech student majoring in pre-dental hygiene. Rachel is one of our patient care coordinators in the front office.  Rachel will greet you when you come in to the office and ask you for any information that we may need from you.  Rachel has worked in our office since 2015 in several different roles including insurance office assistant and sterilization tech.  We hope that her experience with us will make her a better dental hygienist some day.

Rachel's husband plays for the TN Tech basketball team, making her a big fan of the Golden Eagles!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


McKenzie Mayberry, RDA

McKenzie ( Kenzie ) started work here at our office in 2016. Kenzie has been a RDA for almost 2 years now and has expanded her certifation to be able to preform dental radiographs, monitor nitrous and coronal polishing. 

Kenzie is a Livingston native that is happily married to her husband, Morgan. 

She and Morgan along with her 2 kids, Jace and Lexi, attend Life Church in Cookevill
